King Edward VII Stakes Betting Odds - Royal Ascot 2023

The King Edwards VII Stakes is a Group 2 race being run on the penultimate day of the Royal Ascot meeting over a distance of a mile and four furlongs. Open to colts and geldings only, the race often features runners who tried their hand at the Epsom Derby a couple of weeks earlier and is always a fine spectacle. But which horse will win the day here? Read on for the latest betting tips, odds comparison and analysis as we attempt to seek out the winner.

Leading the betting at the time of writing is the Aidan O’Brien-trained Adelaide, who is priced at best betting odds of 5/2 with Bet365 and others. Though the three-year-old has raced only three times in his short career, he has impressed punters and pundits alike with his eagerness and strong, steady style. A strong second place finish in a Group 2 race at Longchamp in May suggests he could take some beating here.

We feel, however, that the second favourite Western Hymn offers far better value at betting odds of 5/1 with BetVictor. He ran in the Derby in early June and finished in a creditable sixth position, but that was against a field that was far superior to the one he’ll face on Friday and our main betting tip is for Western Hymn to win the race.

There isn’t too much in the way of each way value here, but with bookies paying out a quarter of the odds for a top three finish we could be tempted by backing Stefano Botti’s unbeaten three-year-old, Dylan Mouth. The Irish three-year-old might have raced only in Italy to date, but he could surprise a few here and odds of 14/1 with Betfred are worth snapping up considering he’s won five on the bounce.
