Jersey Stakes Betting Odds - Royal Ascot 2023

The Jersey Stakes is the opening race on the card on the second day of Royal Ascot and this seven furlong straight run is certainly an exciting way to get things underway. Open to three year olds only, this Group 3 run is never too easy to predict, but our betting tips – coupled with the latest live betting odds comparison you will find here – will give you a decent chance of making a profit.

There aren’t too many trends to help with when assessing this race, and though Aidan O’Brien saddled back to back winners in 2012 and 2013, no trainer has really had a stranglehold on the Jersey Stakes in its long history. Having said that, Sir Michael Stoute did train five winners, but they were spread rather thinly from 1977 to 2006.

Looking at the betting for this year’s renewal, it is the Richard Fahey-trained Ribchester who edges favouritism from Hugo Palmer’s Gifted Master. Ribchester – who is priced at betting odds of 7/1 with Bet365 – finished in a decent third place in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket at the end of April, three and half lengths back from the winner Galileo Gold. That place coupled with a fine battling victory over six furlongs at Newbury last September suggests Ribchester is the one to beat here.

Second favourite Gifted Master – priced at betting odds of 8/1 also with Bet365 – could well be the main challenger after winning on this course over six furlongs in April when he looked comfortable and confident. With six wins, a second and a third from his nine starts to date, our betting tip for the 2023 Jersey Stakes is to back Gifted Master.

Those looking for a longer odds each way bet could be tempted by Charles Hills’ Ibn Malik, who has won two and placed in the other three of his five runs and looks great value at betting odds of 12/1 here.
