Royal Ascot is jam-packed with top class races, with the best runners and riders from around the world, but those who focus on only the Group 1 races are making a mistake as the Group 2 Coventry Stakes has proved an exceptional spectacle over the years. Here we bring you the latest betting tips and predictions for this six furlong race along with the latest betting odds comparison to give you the best prices whichever runner you back.

With the race being open to two-year-olds only, it is generally no easy task to predict the winner given many of the runners have few races under their belts, hence little form to study. Having said that, there is a fair bit of hype for the current favourite Round Two, who is priced at best betting odds of 5/2 with Bet365. Despite having raced only twice, the colt from the Jim Bolger stable has impressed with his two solid victories, showing good promise.

Round Two won’t have it all his own way, of course, with Richard Hannon’s King Of Rooks looking like particularly good value at a standout 7/1 with Paddy Power. He has raced three times, winning each of his last two (at Newbury then Sandown) by at least five lengths. He was slightly off the pace when running third at Ascot in his first race in early May, but we feel he’s grown in stature since and he is our main betting tip for success in this year’s Coventry Stakes.

Those looking for some decent each way value could do worse than opt for the Saeed bin Suroor-trained, Godolphin-owned Steady Pace. He was beaten by King Of Rooks last time out at Sandown but was the victor at Ascot on 9th May (when King Of Rooks took third) and betting odds of 16/1 with Paddy Power are certainly worth considering for a colt who has a very good turn of pace on top of solid breeding – all the right credentials for Royal Ascot in other words.

All in all, though, we think King Of Rooks has that little bit of extra class to take victory in the Coventry Stakes, so get on at the very nice betting odds of 7/1 before the price gets backed in.
